Course Description

This Course will review the recent changes to accessibility as implemented through the adoption of the 2014 New York City Building Code. The course discusses the differences between the previously effective Local Law 58/87 and the current guidelines on Chapter 11 and ICC A117.1 as they relate to existing residential buildings. Participants will learn to identify the new requirements for various accessible buildings features including, accessible route, multiple levels, parking, loading, and dwelling units as well as understand the elements which can remain unaltered.
