Course Description

New York City has more than 6,000 buildings exceeding 100 feet in height which is second only to Hong Kong for its quantity of High-rise buildings. This course discusses the requirements implemented through the New York City Building Code of 2014 to ensure the life safety of millions of occupants residing or working daily in these buildings. Participants will learn to determine the applicability of code requirements based on building height and occupancy as well as understand the unique criteria for building construction and fire protection systems in a High-rise.
