The biggest BJ’s Wholesale Club in the United States was slotted for development on Brooklyn’s waterfront. SBLM architects designed the project which was, developed by Thor Equities on what was previously a storage lot.
The new BJ’s is massive with a first story of 135,000 square feet and a three-story garage. Outsource facilitated several multi-agency approvals due to the project’s potential impact on traffic, neighborhood character and flood resilience due to its waterfront location. Outsource obtained all applications and permits on the project which took multiple amendments and reconsiderations to push through. Through reconsideration, Outsource was able to find a compliance solution for BJ’s egress door that operates on a delay.
