MOUNT SINAI MORNINGSIDE

Last Project Next Project

Since the middle of the 19th century, Mount Sinai Morningside has been a vital part of health care in New York City. In 2013, Continuum Health Partners, parent company of then St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, merged with The Mount Sinai Hospital, creating the Mount Sinai Health System. St. Luke’s Hospital was renamed Mount Sinai St. Luke’s. That year the hospital outlined a plan to shuffle some current services among other locations and partners, and specialize in operations such as cardiology and cancer care on the St. Luke’s site. Eventually, the top-tier health care facility was renamed Mount Sinai Morningside, to reflect its integral position in Manhattan’s Morningside neighborhood.

Outsource provided building code consultation from the project’s inception. This included egress considerations, fire walls, ADA compliance and more. Outsource pulled all permits and secured all job approvals for the building on a deadline in order for the project to receive funding. The certificate of occupancy process was completed in stages so the hospital could open up the much-needed floors as they were completed.
