Located on the corner of Thompson and Grand, the James New York features a mix of local, national and international artists, both prominent and up-and-coming. The James New York is actually two separate buildings operating as one. It contains a smaller, one-story restaurant building with garden terraces and a 18-story hotel with sky lobby. Due to the stringent and complex zoning laws in SoHo, applications required on this project, the building owner looked to Outsource for clarity and guidance in regard to building permits.

Types of permits required for this job were After-Hour Work, Special Construction Inspection and Sign-Off, Approval of Equipment Use, Temporary Certificat of Occupancy Renewals, Site Inspection, Department of Transportation Permits, Withdrawal of Existing Place of Assembly Space, and Alteration Type 2 Applications.
