Cartier’s famous New York location on 5th Avenue and 52nd
Street runs perpendicular to the street named “Cartier Place”.
Cartier SA acquired the mansion from Morton Freeman Plant
(son of railroad tycoon Henry B. Plant) in 1917. The building
was renovated in 2016 by Beyer Blinder Belle and French
architect Thierry W. Despont. During this time the Cartier
store was temporarily located in the General Motors Building,
which was also home to F.A.O. Schwarz and Apple.
Outsource provided Asbestos Investigation and Certification.
Compliance was also met with the Department of Buildings’
requirements regarding General Construction, Controlled
Inspections, Permits, Provided Cost Affidavit, and a Letter of Completion.
