Longchamp is a French luxury apparel company that has specialized in leather goods since 1948.

The original plan for Longchamp’s Madison Avenue location was to fit out the existing structure for a 6-story residential building with ground floor commercial. Because the building is landmarked, a Certificate of Appropriateness was required to ensure the work performed would not affect the protected architectural features of the building.

Outsource reviewed the plans and made revisions according to code. Outsource filed applications, pulled all permits, signed off existing applications and obtained a temporary certificate of occupancy. Finally, Outsource was able to secure a final Certificate of Occupancy.

Among several reconsiderations on the project, Outsource collaborated with the FDNY to find a compliance solution for an unprotected, wooden egress stair in the original design.
