Previously named Coney Island Hospital, this major medical facility was renamed in 2023 alongside the reconstruction project.

Solutions

Working with FEMA, the hospital developed plans to defend against future storms. These plans included a Critical Services Structure (“CSS”) tower, containing backup medical floors in the event of the hospital’s main building closing due to flooding disasters. Additional changes include sprinkler modifications, the demolition of multiple existing buildings, and the construction of a new permanent flood mitigation structure.
